The DODMWDVS was designated as an approved facility for American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) residencies. Army Veterinary Corps officers are selected by a board to attend the two-year residency which, upon successful completion, allows residents to sit for the ABVP certification examination. Residents also must complete a Masters program in public health/preventive medicine at an approved college/university either prior to or after their DODMWDVS residency.
