puppiesBoth the DOD and the TSA have established dog breeding programs at Lackland. The DOD breeds Belgian Malinois external link (opens in new browser window) and the TSA breeds mostly Labradors, but also a few Vizslas external link (opens in new browser window) (and sometimes Vizsladors!).

The Air Force is in charge of the DOD program and TSA external link (opens in new browser window) administers its own. Program managers are responsible for deciding which dogs to breed and tracking health and performance of resulting offspring in an effort to determine best bloodlines for further breeding.
